[JACK FROST (ATLUS MASCOT)]

I was inspired to do Perler Beads after buying an Octorok NES Sprite from dv8mad and seeing many upclose at AnimeNEXT 2009 in Geek Mythology's table. I love to do spriting in my freetime and this was just the thing I needed that interest and appeals to me.

I first started out by buying a jar filled with 22,000 Perler Beads all in various colors. Then it took my family and I about 10 days on-and-off to sort them all out by individual colors, so I can work easily with them. Then once I had them sorted, I wanted to start off with an easy sprite. A simple project to do was of a sprite I have already done before and it must be of something I wanted to keep afterward. [Why waste good beads? ] So I really loved the Jack Frost Smilie I had made for a forum. I had to resize the image for it to fix on a 29 x 29 pegboard. So I done some minor editing and resizing until you get as shown in the top image above.

It took me only less than a hour to place the beads all on the pegboard as shown in the middle image above. I used some $1 tweezers we had lying around to place the beads on the pegs. The flaps of Jack Frost's hat gave me the most problems since the black beads on the bottom tend to keep falling whenever I place my hand over them.

Then came to the final process which was ironing the thing together as you can see the final product on the bottom image above. I kinda messed it up from there; the edges were melting inward around the top of the hat, since my iron was way too hot. >3< But for my first time doing this, I'm proud. I can't wait to do more projects once I get more pegboards in the mail.
